TUTORIAL FELLOW IN ENGINEERING; PROFESSOR OF ENGINEERING SCIENCE OXFORD UNIVERSITY, UNITED KINGDOM
Dr. Tom Povey is an expert in Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer and Fluid Dynamics, giving University lectures on these topics. His expertise extends to aerodynamics with particular application to rocket and jet engines.
Research topics range from fundamental studies of physical processes that are important for jet-engine life and performance, to the development of novel industrial measurement techniques and advanced instrumentation to measure critical performance parameters. Tom also enjoys teaching Dynamics, Mechanical Vibrations and Mathematics courses when his schedule permits.
Tom is also a keen mountaineer and climber. His experience in high elevation mountain areas actually led to his invention of Flare Cookware as a means to conserve the life sustaining fuel supplies he carries with him on treks. Through research he found that with advanced Fin technology it allows you to cook up to 40% quicker on gas when heating and cooking your food.
